Hard work payed off this Baby just Rocks! It performs great out of the box and then as it breaks in all I can say is WOW! I know I could not pry this one out of Lynn's hands
This strop consists of Premium I leather and Cotton Herringbone canvas. This combination is not normally available. However, through a wonderful feature called "Build Your Own Strop," I was able to create this custom pairing.
Straight Razor Design's brushes are made by a local craftsmen if I remember correctly, and they use TGN knots.
Fit & Finish: Loving attention to every detail. Flawless leather, nice rivets, the webbing feels good, and also works well. It even comes with a carabiner and an o-ring - brilliant. You have to have held one in your hands (luckily, they can be obtained from SRD for very reasonable money), to appreciate how well this strop is made.
Well, then I don't like their tactics and I won't buy from him. It is wrong to have a forum for open discussion but not actually let the discussion be open. What if the vendors on this board and the site owner got together and decided to ban anyone who mentioned SRD or SRP, or any other outside vendor? That wouldn't be very fair, would it? And so, because the person providing the service or product is just as important to me as the actual product or service, I don't care how well he hones or how good his prices are or how well he packages and ships and responds to inquiries. I simply will not deal with him at all. He does not deserve my business.
There. A negative review of sorts on SRD even though I have never done business with him. All because his open forum isn't really an open forum where members can give their honest opinions. Anybody think I am wrong? And there is a difference between being a nice guy and just being nice to paying customers.
Overall value: Somebody has put a lot of thought into this strop, but also made sure it looks good. And as you can order spare parts for it, it might be the only strop you will ever need. Highly recommended!
